Showstopper is a free game about producing a Broadway season. You spin an era, mount five real shows across five category slots, and find out whether the backers crown your slate the Perfect Season — or bring the marquee down on closing night.
We built Showstopper for the people who actually love this stuff: the theater fans who argue about whether a long-running juggernaut beats a short, perfect play, who remember which season had three giants opening in the same spring, and who know that the real drama on Broadway is as much about money and risk as it is about art. The game turns decades of Broadway history into a puzzle you can play in a couple of minutes — and the best seasons reward genuine knowledge of the shows, not just famous names.
Showstopper is one of five sibling games in our little arcade. Each takes the same "build a flawless season" idea and points it at a different passion:
We're an independent developer building daily-puzzle games for fans — one person who likes sports, theater, movies, and the strange satisfaction of a perfectly built lineup. There's no studio and no venture money behind this; just a steady habit of shipping games we'd want to play ourselves and sharing them with anyone who'd enjoy a quick, clever break in the day.
The trick is that no single show can win every way at once. A blockbuster that grosses a fortune might never recoup its enormous capitalization. A beloved, cheaply mounted play might run for years on word of mouth. A critics' darling can close before it finds an audience. Balancing box office, recoupment, longevity, and acclaim across five slots — sometimes under a tight budget cap — is what turns a simple spin-and-pick into a real decision every time.
Showstopper and its sibling games are free and kept deliberately ad-light. If you'd like to help cover hosting and fund continued development — new shows in the catalog, new modes, and new games — a small bit of support goes a long way.
